Healthy You Tip!

Get Fit With Household Chores

Staying or getting fit doesn't have to involve hours at the gym. Instead try increasing your activity around the house. “Put on your favorite music and dance. Clean your house, wash the car, play with your children or pets, work in the garden,” says internist Erika Lahav, M.D. To maintain your health, get 30 minutes of activity a day. If you’re trying to lose weight, bump that up to 60-90 minutes. And don’t worry about doing it all at once: 10- or 15-minute chunks of time are just as effective. Looking for fitness alternatives?
